For the 11th year in a row, a group of students apart of the musical improvisation group on campus put on a concert with a range of music from Jazz to Medieval Spanish. We had guest performers such as Consuelo Luz, members of the African Chorus, Praxedes Quintana, Malte Helligsøe which contributed new and interesting additions to the already amazing performances put on by Caetano & Darius (Saxophone), Niccolo & Paolo (guitar), Zoe Chitty (Piano) and Fred (Drums). Overall, it was an experience not to be missed year after year.
We applaud everyone who contributed to this experience.
It is a UWC-USA tradition to have competition in sports between first-years and second-years. Last semester, we had the first-year versus second- year soccer and basketball games. This past Friday, we held the first-year VS. second-year volleyball competition. It was a very exciting and close game. The first-years won sets 1, 2, and 5. This is the first time the first-years have won one of the first-year VS. second-year games. Congratulations!!! The second-years also played very well and everybody had a lot of fun.
Thank you to all of who played in the game especially the leaders Karina Gonzalez ‘13, Mexico & Texas and Felix Biver ‘14 Luxembourg. Also, thank you to Tom Oden, vice president for academic affairs, who is the best referee!

We are in Grade 10 and are currently working on a critical challenge project. We have chosen to research about genetic engineering in humans. We are interested in getting international views and would love to get the opinions of students in UWC- USA.
We have created a survey and were wondering if students would be open to answering it. It doesn’t take long and would help greatly.
